Before you bake — read this first:

Your oven is never fully pre-heated when it beeps. Let it continue pre-heating for an additional 20 minutes after it signals it’s ready. We know it’s hard to wait — but this one step makes all the difference in how your order turns out.

About Our Mac n’ Cheese

Heads up — These Instructions Are for Take & Bake Items Only

These baking instructions apply to our raw, frozen take-and-bake mac n’ cheese — items you take home to bake yourself. If you purchased already-baked mac n’ cheese from our shop (we often have these in stock!), you do not need to bake them — just warm and enjoy. Not sure which you have? Give us a call at (270) 551-4440.

How to Bake Our Mac n’ Cheese 9×9 Pan

Bake at 400°F
50 minutes total
Defrost overnight
Serves 6–8
  1. Defrost the mac n’ cheese container in the refrigerator overnight before baking.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
Pro Tip Your oven is never fully pre-heated when it beeps! Let it pre-heat another 20 minutes after it says it's ready.
  3. Remove the container from the refrigerator and remove the plastic lid — the foil base is oven safe so no need to remove that. Cover the top with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake covered for 40 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden.
Not Fully Defrosted? If your mac n’ cheese was not fully defrosted when you started, add another 10 minutes before removing the foil.
  5. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Tips for Success

Pro Tips for Perfect Biscuits

Don’t skip the overnight defrost. A frozen pan will take an hour longer to bake and the texture won’t be as creamy.
Cover for the first 40 minutes. The foil traps steam, which keeps the pasta tender and prevents the top from over-browning before the inside is heated through.
Uncover at the end for the golden top. Those last 10 minutes are what create the bubbly, slightly crispy edges that everyone fights over
Want extra creamy? Stir in a splash of whole milk or heavy cream after baking. Many customers say it’s not necessary — but it’s a nice option.
Add a topping for extra flair. Crushed gluten-free crackers or breadcrumbs sprinkled on top before the final uncovered bake makes for a beautiful crunchy crust.
Leftovers

Storage & Reheating

How to Store & Reheat

Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. To reheat, microwave in 30-second intervals until heated through, stirring between intervals to redistribute the heat. Be careful not to overcook — gluten-free pasta can dry out quickly. Add a splash of milk before reheating for extra creaminess.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mac n’ Cheese FAQs

Is your mac n’ cheese safe for someone with celiac disease?
Yes. Our mac n’ cheese is made in our 100% dedicated gluten-free kitchen with no risk of cross-contamination. Everything we bake is celiac-safe.
Do you offer dairy-free or vegan mac n’ cheese?

Yes! We offer a Vegan Mac n’ Cheese — also dairy-free — that you can order directly. Customers rave about it. If you have other dietary questions or want to ask about availability, give us a call at (270) 551-4440.

Do you keep mac n’ cheese in stock or do I need to pre-order?

Our mac n’ cheese is most reliably ordered ahead — it sells out quickly, especially around holidays. We try to keep some in our shop for walk-ins, but we can’t guarantee availability. Call us at (270) 551-4440 to check current stock.

Can I bake it straight from frozen?
It’s much better if you defrost overnight, but if you forget, just add another 10 minutes to your covered bake time before removing the foil. The pasta will be a bit denser but still delicious.
How many people does the 9×9 pan feed?
As a side dish, our 9×9 pan comfortably feeds 6–8 people. As a main course, it’s perfect for a family of 4 with leftovers.
Can I freeze it after baking?
Yes — let it cool completely, transfer to an airtight container, and freeze for up to a month. Defrost overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
