Your Artisan bread will stay fresh on the countertop for 2–3 days after purchase. For longer storage, freeze using the instructions below.

Freezing Instructions
  1. Slice the remaining bread loaf to your desired thickness.
  2. Arrange the slices on a clean cookie sheet and place them in the freezer until they are cold (no need to freeze completely at this stage).
  3. Transfer the cold slices into a large freezer bag.
  4. Seal the bag and store in the freezer.
Defrosting Slices

For Soft Bread Slices

  1. Wrap slices in a damp paper towel.
  2. Microwave in 15 second bursts, flipping bread slices over each interval, until heated through.

For Toasting

You can toast bread directly from frozen, or defrost using the method above first.

For best results, toast at a lower temperature than you would for traditional bread. This ensures even toasting and prevents the edges from burning.
Baking a Full Uncut Loaf

To Bake (preferred method)

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°.
  2. Place frozen loaf onto a baking sheet.
  3. Lightly spray or sprinkle with water.
  4. Loosely cover bread with foil to prevent browning.
  5. Place sheet into the middle of the oven and bake for 50 minutes.
  6. Let rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

If you want to skip the baking…

Place a whole loaf in the fridge overnight to defrost, or microwave wrapped in damp paper towels for 30 second intervals.

You can also slice frozen bread using a sharp serrated knife and defrost slices using the instructions above.
